was the idea of Philadelphia's premiere PR genius, Jay Devine, of the mighty

Agency to effect the dream of new owner and new CEO of the consortium
of power brokers known as Philadelphia Media Holdings, LLC, one Mr. Brian
Tierney......
and Philadelphia Newspapers Inc. Publisher and grand poobah,
Joe Natoli
to call on me to have me create and breathe life into
the handsome, young vendor character, Joey Broadnshnyder, the quintessential
Everyman and Vendor par excellance of the region's favorite newspapers,
the Ink-wire and the Daily News.

First I dazzled 'em in New York City at the Four Seasons, taking a moment to allow the assembled minions to get a photo with me as a momento:
